Meet Liz Long Rottman, LPC, LMT
Somatic Therapist, Supervisor, Consultant, and Educator Sleepless nights and fear feel overwhelming, making even simple tasks a challenge. There’s a longing for connection, yet detachment and shame often take over. You can't get out of bed some days, but you can't relax either. Persistent aches, pains, and symptoms in your body remain unresolved despite medicine and other standard therapies. You miss being part of the world, yet feel frozen at the thought of moving forward. Many relationships seem challenging, leaving you with guilt and unresolved issues. You seek peace and stability. You've tried different approaches to settle your life, yearning to reconnect with your authentic self.
Hello, I’m Liz, a dedicated somatic bodyworker, body psychotherapist, and somatic educator. I work with high achieving and gifted adults that struggle with stuckness in having agency over their lives. By using somatic and philosophical approaches, I help my clients resolve long standing stuck mental and physical patterns. Through our work together, my clients achieve inner freedom so that they can experience ease as they make decisions and pursue their wants and needs in life. My Approach With a rich blend of movement, philosophy, mythology, spirituality, applied physiology, and psychology, I bring a unique perspective to therapy. My work is deeply rooted in my own journey of self-discovery and extensive experience helping others in diverse contexts, from athletic coaching to support groups for those living with psychotic disorders. I am committed to integrating the best practices from healing arts, philosophies, and sciences to offer you effective and compassionate care. Why Work with Me?
Beyond the Therapy Room When I'm not working, I cherish time with my husband, son, and our bonded pair of cats in our mountain home. I also enjoy connecting with our vibrant community of friends and family. My personal interests, including parenting, yoga, somatic movement practices, weightlifting, cooking, nutrition, skiing, mountain biking, paper art, writing, and foraging, continually inspire and rejuvenate me. I identify as a straight, white, cis-woman, able-bodied, neurodiverse (gifted) person, and I embrace the leverage that my privilege affords me in advocating for the marginalized. Join me on a journey towards deeper self-understanding and well-being. Together, we can unlock your potential and create a thriving, fulfilling life. Pricing: $200/50min session I do not take sliding scale or insurance. However, I can provide you a superbill on demand that you can submit to your insurance provider. Typically what you pay for in therapy will go towards your deductible and many clients receive sizable reimbursements from their insurances. I am currently full. If you would like to become a client of our practice, please schedule with Gabby. Contact me today! A Note On Diagnoses
Due to the kind of license I carry, I can diagnose psychological disorders, but frankly, I find diagnostics are best done through a good psychological evaluation by an assessor with a Ph.D. or equivalent training. If having an accurate diagnosis is important to you, I am happy to refer you to an assessor. Likewise, I encourage people with physical ailments to pursue diagnosis with an MD or equivalent if they would benefit. I am a big believer in “non-reductionism,” which means I do not privilege one “approach” over the other (i.e., always deferring to organic, humanistic approaches over traditional medical care. Sometimes we need medication, surgery, etc.). I just care that you get the treatment that works for you. |
